I PURCHASED ANOTHER NEW GUN by Joshua Alvarado-Lutfalla
I purchased another new gun
As I draw from my holster and line up the sights in the mirror
My target becomes clearer
The target is me; a prisoner to paranoia is where I stay confidently frozen
Life or death my hands have been chosen
To protect or destroy
I wish it was just a toy gun and I a little boy
All the reasons I feed myself not one will hold up in front of God
Putting wrathful abilities in my hands seems flat out odd
I need to protect myself
But how many previous times has a bullet been bad for my health
A cop wrongfully pulled a gun on Leo
He bought one, and I got two for a forty cal. and 9mm trio
I don’t want to go to jail because some one had road rage
And have some one turn my book of life to the last page
Weather I rot in jail or a casket
Protection, is what I tell myself as I put my bullets in my shopping basket.
